ESL in Canada Study Tours
The Study Tour Program begins with Pre-Tour English instruction for a special purpose. The program participants will be provided with the vocabulary, definitions, history and culture of the Canada locations, events and activities. The pre-tour English instruction will prepare tour participants to understand and communicate in English during the Canada events and tours.
This Study Tour group program (for 10 to 250 participants) consists of interchangeable tours, study programs and event attendance. This allows the study tour participants maximum flexibility for price, time or location considerations.

Interactive Broadcast Learning Lab
WebTV+ - Currently the Interactive Broadcast Learning Lab has the Philips Magnavox MAT976 WebTV+ and SONY INT-W200 WebTV+.
As part of the labs OpenTV Target Decoder a PACE TP3 is connected via a serial port to emulate OpenTV applications. OpenTV is one of the worlds most widely deployed iTV systems and is currently implemented by a number of MSO's and used globally in over fifty countries.
AOLTV ? Because of America On-Line's dominant position in the US market as an Internet provider many feel they have the market position to develop their service given that they own the Time-Warner content vault. The Interactive Broadcast Learning Lab was among the first places in Canada to have this service. The box contains a 4 gig hard drive and may eventually emulate a personal video recorder.
The Motorola DCT-5000 is the highly touted next generation set-top that can run both a variety of operating systems. The box contains a faster processor, more memory and larger hard drives than the current generation of installed set-tops in the marketplace.
Advanced Computer Animation Technology
Introduction to scripting, expressions, shader networks, organization of data and practical applications of the MEL scripting language will be used to drive particle and dynamics applications within the Maya animation environment. Also presented more advanced scripting to encompass interface building, more advanced dynamic systems control and rendering management.

Columbia Icefield - Located on the boundary of Banff and Jasper National Parks.
The icefield covers an area of nearly 325 square kilometers. The continuous accumulation
of snow feeds eight major glaciers including the Athabasca, Dome, and Stutfield Glaciers and all are visible from the Icefields Parkway. The Columbia Icefield is a true "continental divide," as it feeds streams and rivers that pour into the Arctic, Atlantic, and Pacific oceans. Tour the Athabasca Glacier and you will travel to the middle of the glacier, on a 5 kilometer round trip journey. Your driver/guide will explain how glaciers are formed and point out interesting geological features.
Columbia Icefields Parkway - The view of waterfalls, emerald lakes, alpine meadows
and snow-capped peaks makes this one of the most scenic highways in the world. From Lake
Louise to Jasper the Parkway winds along the shoulder of the Great Divide and passes by
the spectacular mountains of the Eastern Canadian Rockies. It crosses the headwaters of
the Bow, Mistaya and North Saskatchewan Rivers exposes spectacular sights as Lake Louise,
Bow Lake, Peyto and Crowfoot Glaciers, Mistaya Canyon and the Weeping Wall. From Jasper,
the parkway passes Athabasca Falls and the Sunwapta Canyon. It is a majestic wilderness
habitat for elk, bighorn sheep, moose, mountain goats and grizzly bears.
Dinosaur Provincial Park - one of the richest fossil beds in the world. In
Drumheller visit the Royal Tyrell Museum of Paleontology and journey through time into
the era of the great dinosaurs. The museum houses the worlds' largest collection of
dinosaur skeletons.
Fraser River white water - Ride over the wild white water of "Hells Gate".
See the Fraser Canyon and understand why he named this area "Hells Gate". View the
International Fishways to assist millions of salmon per year make it to their spawning
grounds.
Grouse Mountain - The Grouse Mountain Skyride takes you on a one-mile journey
to the mountaintop. Grouse Mountain has the World Famous Lumberjack Show, the Refuge for
Endangered Wildlife, Birds in Motion Demonstrations and mountain top nature trails.
Grouse Mountain has winter adventures including 25 ski and snowboard runs, 10km of

Toronto CN Tower - The CN Tower is Canada's most recognizable icon. At a height of
553.33m (1,815 ft., 5 inches), it is the World's Tallest Building. Visitors can enjoy
"To The Top: The Movie" a 15 minute documentary of the building of the engineering marvel
that created the CN Tower.

speak on familiar topics at both concrete and abstract levels; can provide descriptions,
opinions and explanations.
Reading identifies main ideas, factual details and inferred meanings in text,
identifies organization of text, topic sentences and logical relationship including
links between paragraphs; follows the sequence of narration or process even when
events are out of sequence; distinguishes facts from opinions; infers meaning of words
from context clues; hypothesizes how something works; evaluates ideas in text, draws
